Penelope Walford www.penelopewalford.com is an NHS-trained Smoking Cessation Advisor with private stop smoking clinics in Harley Street, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. She also runs an associated company, Smokers Stop Shop www.smokersstopshop.co.uk, which sells the widest range of smoking cessation aids in the UK.
Penny is a keen campaigner for improved ethics and standards in smoking cessation and is the founder of the ASCP (Association of Smoking Cessation Professionals) www.ascp.org.uk.
Originally a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist working with a wide range of problems, I now specialise exclusively in Smoking Cessation within the corporate environment and with individual clients.
I divide my time between working with corporate clients, and seeing individual smokers one-to-one and training other smoking cessation professionals.
I hold the most advanced NHS Smoking Cessation qualification, for which I trained with Peter Hajek of the famous London Maudsley Hospital Smoking Clinic, and other highly respected names in the field of smoking research.
I am a founding member of the Association of Smoking Cessation Professionals, the overall aim of which is to define and promote standards for ethical practice among smoking cessation practitioners, and to provide a voice for all drug-free smoking cessation methods and products.
I served as a Director of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). The NCH demands high standards of all their members and strict adherance to a code of ethics, as well as full professional indemnity insurance. I continue with on-going training and regular peer supervision.
